Need to write a grant proposal? Develop a seasonal influenza
plan? Or plan a new immunization outreach program?
An important first step is developing a set of well-written
objectives or SMART Objectives. (Specific,
Measurable, Achievable, Realistic
and Time-Bound.) Funders
look for SMART objectives in order to ensure that they are investing
wisely. SMART objectives:
- help set program priorities;
- set targets for progress and accountability;
- provide guidance for planning and developing strategies and
tactics;
- provide direction for implementing programs;and
- identify evaluation criteria
Program plans that are not based on SMART objectives,
can cause problems in implementation and evaluation. This could
result in not delivering on your program's goals and ultimately
losing your funding.
| By the time you finish this e-tutorial,
you will be able to write a SMART Objective! |
